This is the cover for a book I’m planning to publish on Amazon in the new future. I’ve started doing some promo for it over on my other blog, so if you want to keep updated I recommend following rachaellawrites. I don’t want to bombard your guys with promotional stuff here. Some notes on this story that might interest you:

• It was inspired by the House of Night series. That’s not to say that it’s a rip-off or a fix-it fic. Basically, I took some of the ideas in HoN that I thought were interesting but ultimately fell flat and tried my hand at incorporating them into my own story. The main elements I borrowed were: humans and a supernatural species co-exist, it is possible for a human to turn into one of these supernatural creatures, there’s conflict between these races, the human is uniquely gifted, her male best friend is gay. Overall, however, HoN and Stranger & Stranger are two very different stories.
• As I mentioned previously, there are LGBTQIA/GRSM characters in this story. As of this book there are only two, but there will be at least three more revealed/introduced over the course of the series.
• I did not just slap paganism into the story and call it something different. Instead, I developed a set of gods based on the seven types of specialized magic a faerie could possess.
• This series as a whole is basically an excercise in me looking at cliches and lost potential in series like HoN and going, “Okay, but what if they did this instead?”

Okay, that’s enough of my rambling. I’ve been sitting on this story for a couple years now and I’m really excited to finally be sharing it! I hope you guys will check it out, and I especially hope you’ll enjoy it.
